Mar. 31, 2020

Dear Grade 8's and 10's:

Welcome back, everyone. I hope you're doing well.  Thank you for checking our website! Here's an update as to what's happening:

Right now, we're in the middle of planning your new online learning experience!! I'm excited to share with you all what's been developing - that will start up next week.

  • CLE, we're going to be continuing on with our careers unit by moving on to interviews, life on the job, and so forth. You can choose whether you continue as your character, or if you prefer/ if you've left your Career Card at school, you can participate as Future You.
  • English 10, we're starting a new unit on Bias in the Media. You might argue there's not been a better time to explore a theme like this!
  • Grade 8's: Please finish your notes on the presentation we'd started before the break (Moving Forward: Fall, Fights, and Faith), and email them to me by April 15, 2020 (that's next next Wednesday). If you've got any questions or concerns, please email me - I'm checking my mail daily!

I know we're in a bit of a strange period, but I hope this has given you time to read a little more, spend a little more time with your siblings, refine your drawing skills, or practice those layups with the hoop in your backyard. There's perhaps never been a better time to work on self-development. To have time to embrace full, unhindered, unconstrained creativity in a short story or a poem.

Wherever you're at, know that your teachers are all here for you.

I'll be sending an email to your parents on Friday to check in.

Be safe, and look out for yourself and your families. :)

Sincerely,

Ms. Minato
