Here were the questions to complement your Resume & Cover Letters package:

Please Answer on a Separate Sheet of Paper. Point form or Sentences. 

1.     Give 5 headings that might appear on one’s resume.

2.     What is the purpose of the Objective section of a resume?

3.     If you include a skills section in your resume, in what order should you record your skills?

4.     Look at the Personal Skills example on page 2. What do you notice about the language and word choice? Give 2 observations. 

5.     This booklet tells you in what order to place your work experience. 

a.     What is this order?

b.     Can you think of a different order you might use?

6.     Give 2 things one could include in an Additional Information section.

7.     Give 3 examples of the types of people you can include as a reference. 

8.     How can you ensure your resume meets the standard of “Consistency?” Give 2-3 pointers. 

9.     A) How long should your resume be? 

B) How long should your cover letter be?

10.  What is the purpose of a cover letter?

11.  Give the 3 sections (paragraph topics) of a cover letter.

12.  Who or what is the focus of a strong, appealing cover letter: the applicant or the employer? Explain.

You should have submitted your first letter to your future pen-pal. Late letters will be accepted until tomorrow at 3:30PM. Your letters will then be sent via time-portal mail, and you'll receive a letter back on Wednesday!

English 10:
We completed The Hate U Give and began watching the film by George Tillman, Jr. (2018). We also introduced the essay topics for this unit, found here.

We continue to work through our Lit Kit project. Many of us have completed our story draft (Freytag's pyramid) and are moving through to the drafting of our project.

You have the following work periods left:

Feb. 13 (computer lab)
Feb. 19 (computer lab)
Feb. 21 (laptops)

Again, your projects are due on Feb. 25th.

CLE:

We continue to develop our final reports for the Personal Project. Your printed final report and academic honesty form are due to me (your CLE teacher) by 4pm on February 20th (Thursday). I will submit them to our Personal Project Coordinator at precisely 4:15pm.
