ENG10 - Hate U Give Reading Schedule

Hello, Lang & Lit 10!

In light of our discussion last day, I thought it could be helpful for you to see our reading schedule for the remainder of our novel. To the best of my ability, I am taking into account your Personal Project as well as the needs of our curriculum and unit timing.

Jan. 24: GNA Day

Jan. 29: use Ch 10-11
Jan. 31: use Ch 12-13

Feb. 4: use Ch 14-16
Feb. 6: use Ch 17-19 (Ch 19 to be read in class to alleviate mid-week readings)

Feb. 10: use Ch 20-22
Feb. 12: use Ch 23-24

Feb. 18: use Ch 25-26 (Ch 26 to be read in class)

I am doing my best to limit weekday readings to 2 chapters, and 3 for weekends. Knowing this schedule ahead of time, please use your time wisely for class assignments and activities, your extracurriculars, Personal Project preparation, and all other responsibilities you might undertake.

ENG 10:  Thank you for your honest and reflective thoughts on our hot topics today. I'd also just like to say a quick thanks for your reactions to our "On Whose Histories Do We Sit?" mini-activity. So thank you.

Reminders for Your First Week Back

1. Tomorrow is a Day 2. The schedule is 2-2, 2-1, 2-4, and then 2-3. We'll have this rotation for another few weeks. Grade 8's, this means social studies - bring your binders and notes from December, as we're playing review Jeopardy!

2. PLT is on Tuesday, as per usual. In our classroom, we will be doing some binder organization.

3. Wednesday is Team-Time, so early dismissal at 12:49
(grade 8 boys basketball members - remember we still have practice 3:00-4:30)

The first week might be the most challenging for you, but give it a few days -- slipping back into a routine can be as familiar as putting on your favourite jeans that were hiding at the back of your closet.
