  1.  How did you come up with your island design? Explain your process in 4-6 points
  2. When you constructed your island, which was the most challenging landform to recreate?
  3. Sometimes it takes time to find the “gaps” in our knowledge. Give at least one question you have about landforms – we will review the answers on Wednesday!

English 10:  Thank you for submitting your Speech Analyses. If you haven't finished our questions from Lloyd Axworthy's speech, "The Internet and Global Human Rights," please ensure they are completed for Wednesday: 

1.    The author begins his speech with a talking stick. What is this object?

2.    What are two cons (negatives) of the Internet that he addresses? 

3.    What are two pros (positives) of the Internet that he addresses?

4.    Axworthy says that his point is to address the dynamic technology of the Internet, and to examine to what extent it can be used to promote social change. Does he seem more openly accepting of the Internet, or wary/ cautious of it? Explain how you know. 

5.    What is the connection between the talking stick and the Internet?

We looked at one "This I Believe" speech from the NPR, and started to think about what experiences shaped our beliefs/ values. We started brainstorming our own speech, but there's no formal homework (yet). The instructions for our speech assignment can be viewed here.
